Vibrant Fall Wedding at Rest Yourself River Ranch | Cleveland Wedding Photographer

Fall is my FAVORITE season of all.  I love stepping outside of the house on an evening with a chill in the air, being able to smell a fire burning in the distance, wearing a hoodie with a hot latte in my hands (maybe my Uggs too, if I’m feeling extra).   Going to hockey games, pumpkin patches, bonfires, and fall festivals.

Living in Texas for the last 15 years, fall isn’t really a “thing” here.  I feel like it’s over 100 degrees for 100 days, then we have about a week of freezing temps, and then another 100 days of burning hellfire.   I’m not counting about 100 days of the year there with those numbers but I can assure you they’re also an inferno.  I’ve been told multiple times that moving to Ohio will reset my four seasons and I’m so happy for that!  We don’t deal with snow much down here (if any at all), and I’m moving back to a place where it sticks for at least a month.  This is so exciting, especially for my daughter, Willow (who’s a born and raised Texan).  I am super grateful for remote start in our vehicles, though - while I love cold weather, I don’t like getting into a frozen car in the morning.  I’m rambling…let’s talk about this gorgeous wedding!

Makaila and Cayson picked THE perfect venue, the perfect day (gorgeous weather), and the perfect details to set their day apart from others.  Cayson is a firefighter and his groom's cake was a helmet, how cute is that?  They had blankets for everybody to cuddle up in, and I think the food served was probably some of the better food I’ve had at a wedding:  Del Norte Tacos.  Working with the bride and her aunt, our timeline was smooth and nobody felt rushed:  this is so important for you.  No one wants to be stressed to the max on the prettiest day of your life.

I had dreamed of photographing a wedding at Rest Yourself River Ranch for a couple of years and when Makaila reached out to me to tell me this is where their big day was going to be, I wanted to do a backflip (key word, wanted - I’d break my back if I tried that nowadays)!  They have the most perfect overlook for the ceremony and the guest seating is so intimate and rustic as well (logs).  The way the venue has this set up, the sunset is a PERFECT backdrop.

Their reception was hours of laughing and dancing, her wedding party was such a hoot!  They had an intimate last dance where everyone was led to the front for the send off and then glitter was EVERYWHERE.  It’s so nice to see a send off with something other than sparklers - sparklers are great, don’t get me wrong, but everybody does them!

Check out the pictures below - I hope I did the place justice but it really is that beautiful.  While these were taken in the fall, summer is coming soon, Texas, whether you’re ready or not!

XOXO,

Angie
