Sunset Engagement Session at 41 Creek Ranch

This morning, with surprisingly a little downtime for once this November, I sat and thought about needing to post a blog, which session should I write about today?  Looking through my images and recent blogs I almost had an aneurysm when I realized I never wrote or shared the gallery of my favorite session to date!  We’re going to just fix that nonsense right now!

Eliza reached out to me months ago wanting to do an engagement session with me.  Of course, I was happy to do so, it’s been a while since I’ve done one and if you know me at all – you know I love to tell a story with pictures and capture emotion.  I absolutely love to photograph a couple and I have a few tricks up my sleeve to really capture the mood.  It’s like magic when it all works out.

This couple did NOT disappoint.  We met at 41 Creek Ranch (I mean, I’m not obsessed with that place at all) and rode up to the top at literally the most perfect light of the day.  The weather was beautiful – a tad bit on the windy side but tolerable and very little clouds to be seen.  I think what I love most about 41 Creek is your options or scenery are so vast and even if you did have to shoot at noon you could still find a lovely option.  I think in the 10+ times I’ve been there for sessions I’ve shot in 15 different locations.

Eliza told me she drove from Amarillo, so we could have this session and she’s in school to become a Dental Hygienist – just like me!  It’s such a small world.  Her upcoming semester is her last so as you’re reading this, please give her some kind thoughts, it was the most stressful of my life.

Her husband to be, Jonathan, lives in Abilene and studies at ACU.  They are thinking of making it their home permanently after graduation.  I’d love to photograph their wedding, but they are getting married back in Nevada where they are both from.

Wish the happy couple happy thoughts in the comments below!  They were wonderful.  I just know good things are in store for them.

Until next time!
